What’s the restaurant where you can get hand butchered steak any size you like in Newcastle City Centre? It’s Bar + Block Steakhouse Newcastle. We opened our doors in December 2019 and have been serving up steaks and cocktails ever since. We a 2 minute walk from St James Park but we’re situated in the old co-op department store which is a Grade 2 listed building that opened in 1932. Keep an eye out for the original clock tower hands positioned on the wall within the entrance of the restaurant and the beautiful art deco stained glass windows. We’re famous for our steaks, all hand cut to order and grilled to perfection by our expert chefs. We’ve also got experienced bartenders ready to stir your cocktail of choice or pour you a wine or beer. There’s always something for everyone.
Our location
You’ll find Bar + Block Steakhouse Newcastle on Newgate Street, in the old co-op department store, a grade 2 listed building. We’re situated in Newcastle city centre, perfect for a day’s shopping at Eldon Square Shopping Centre or Fenwicks, or enjoying a night of entertainment with Lane 7 bowling, The Theatre Royal and Cineworld just around the corner. We’re also just a short walk away from St James Park - the home of Newcastle United. Bar + Block steakhouse is perfectly placed for a meal whether you’re a tourist or a local in Newcastle.
